Harford Ballet Company Pre-Professional Auditions
The Harford Ballet Company will hold Pre-Professional auditions for intermediate and advanced students ages 10-18 on Sunday, May 23, 2010 2:00- 4:00p (registration begins at 1:30p) . All dancers attending the audition should wear a black leotard and pink tights. Please no skirts, leg warmers or additional clothing. Dancers will be given a ballet technique class to asses their technical and artistic skills. Older students may be required to take the class en pointe.
This audition is a requirement for all dancers who would like to be a part of the intensive training experience and performance opportunities offered through the Harford Ballet Company. There will be an informational meeting about the HBC experience following the audition for students and parents who would like to learn more about the company. HBC students are required to take at least 3-5 ballet classes per week and to attend 2-6 hours of rehearsal per week. Pre-Professional students participate in both outreach and main stage performances produced by the Harford Ballet Company. Please call the HBC office at 410- 877- 0777 if you have any questions.
Harford Ballet Company Professional Division Auditions
Auditions for the Harford Ballet Company Professional Division will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 2:00- 4:00p (registration begins at 1:30p). This audition is open to dancers ages 16 and up (as of Aug. 1, 2010) who have achieved an advanced or professional level of technique and artistry. Participation in the professional division requires that dancers are taking at least 3 ballet classes per week and all professional division dancers must be able to attend Saturday HBC rehearsals. Dancers will be expected to attend additional rehearsals for soloist and principal roles.
All applicants should come at least 30 minutes early to register and should provide a resume, dance photo, and head shot. Ladies will be asked to dance en pointe. Video auditions are not accepted. We are willing to schedule an audition during company class if a dancer is unable to attend the Professional Division audition.
